What does flawless skin look like?

An even skin tone, hydrated with a level of luminosity (a glow), is considered to be healthy, youthful and attractive skin.

How to maintain flawless skin?

A simple cleansing routine that doesn’t need a project manager to carry it out!

Identify ingredients in your skincare products that will nourish the skin with nutrients from plant rich sources, just as you would with your internal organs.

  • Cleanse

For *non-oily skin we recommend using a creamy cleanser to digest make-up and dirt from the day. Allow the cleanser to sit on the skin for 15 minutes, this will breakdown the make-up and dirt, thereafter use a warm damp washi cloth or muslin cloth to remove the cleanser.

*Oily skin requires a gel cleanser so as not to clog the pores.

  • Tone

A non-alcohol toner is the best to remove excess cleanser and retain the skins pH without stripping the skins acid mantle and closes the pores to reduce infection.  We recommend flower waters / hydrosols, because they retain the beneficial essential oil in the steam distilled water.

  • Moisturise

A good day moisturiser manages two jobs—hydration and protection. Choose a plant-based moisturiser because plant oils and butters contain essential fatty acids and antioxidants that will penetrate the skin better than man-made emollients like mineral oil or lanolin and antioxidants from natural sources that contain bioflavonoids and other beneficial compounds not found in synthetic versions.

  • Sunscreen

It is imperative to wear a sunscreen on a daily basis because the sun’s UV rays are always present even on cloudy days. Use non-irritating physical sun blocks like zinc oxide.

  • Exfoliate

Exfoliation is key to flawless skin because it assists in the skins ability to regenerate and produce new skin cells and keep the skins appearance fresh, plump and radiate.   A course of facials should be considered as part of your skin care regime to maintain healthy flawless skin.

  • Diet

Always eat a balanced diet – in particular get your daily requirement of essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6), antioxidants (vitamins A to K), minerals (selenium, zinc, etc.) and WATER in its natural form or in a herbal tea as the body needs to remain hydrated.
